At M.S. 180: A School for Excellence & Opportunity, we believe every scholar should have access to challenging, engaging coursework that inspires excellence. Our accelerated Regents program provides students with the opportunity to earn high school credit while still in middle school, giving them a competitive advantage as they transition into high school and beyond.
🧬 Biology Regents (Grade 7)
Explore the wonders of living systems through laboratory investigations, scientific inquiry, genetics, ecology, and human biology. Students develop the skills of real scientists while preparing for the Living Environment Regents.
➗ Algebra I Regents
Students strengthen their mathematical reasoning by exploring equations, functions, linear relationships, and problem-solving strategies. This accelerated course prepares scholars to earn high school mathematics credit before entering ninth grade.
🌎 Earth & Space Science Regents
From earthquakes and weather to astronomy and the origins of our planet, students investigate Earth's dynamic systems through inquiry, data analysis, and hands-on scientific exploration.
🌐 Spanish Proficiency
Students develop confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Spanish while exploring the richness of Hispanic cultures. Successful completion demonstrates proficiency in a world language and prepares scholars for continued language study.
U.S. History & Government Regents (Grade 8)
Our eighth-grade scholars examine the people, events, and ideas that shaped the United States while strengthening their abilities to analyze historical evidence, evaluate multiple perspectives, and think critically about civic responsibility. Students complete the course by taking the New York State Regents Examination in U.S. History & Government.
